YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK BECAUSE:
What is it about? This book starts out following the life of a reporter named Chauncey Bailey. Chauncey Bailey is a reporter who writes about the 'truth' of Your Muslim Bakery. After one of his most controversial pieces was published by his editor in The Post. That leads up to his murder that was ordered by Yusuf Bey IV. Then the rest of the book focuses on Yusuf Bey and why he felt entitled to all he had. This book however does not support or justify Bey's actions. The ending ends with the conviction of Bey for 'conspiracy' of the killing of Chauncey Bailey. This book tells of a man who was raised as if he didn't matter. But then when he grew up he took over his father's business of which he learned the trick of the trade. He was finally being recognized in a family where his father had around 9 wives and each wife bearing at least 2-3 children. Yusuf Bey IV being one of them. He was told that to get what he wanted he must do whatever it took. He also was to punish all those who questioned or opposed him. "Yusuf Bey IV felt so entitled he even called himself the Prince of the Bakery." But still many feared him for he would stop for nothing to get what he wanted. "When ever he drove down the street one could hear murmurs of things similar to 'there goes Lucifer'." This is about a man so filled and consumed with greed that he ended up taking it too far. Resulting in the death of Chauncey Bailey. The book ends with the conviction of Bey IV in the killing of Chauncey bailey. People should learn from this and understand there are limits to getting what you want. You also must remember that Bey wanted to get equality but he did it without piece and went straight to violence. This shows how violence is not always the answer to your problems even if it is for a good cause. We should all take in consider others feelings and ideas when opposing their ideas. We need to figure a way to solve our problems without using violence to just eliminate the so called "issue".

I am reading a book called Killing the Messenger by: Thomas Peele. It is about facing racism at the forefront. A man named Chauncey Bailey who writes near a bakery owned by the Bey's. He writes multiple articles about "Problems of your Black Muslim Bakery" he is later murdered. The hitman was hired and convicted but later the Bey's were prosecuted for the " In June 2011 Yusuf Bey IV, a local bakery owner, and his associate Antoine Mackey were convicted of ordering Bailey's murder. " The book follows this plot exactly with in the prologue following the life of Bailey in the build up of his murder. Then the later parts of the book focus on Yusuf Bey IV and his background and reason for killing Bailey. It also shows how the public and relatives dealt with the murder and civil rights by, making of the Chauncey Bailey Project which is a real thing. "Suddenly a tall, lean man dressed in black sweatshirt...a ski mask covering his face... the masked gun man right on top of him, leveling the weapon right before it erupted." This accurately depicts the day Bailey is killed as it was told in court when convicting the murderer of the killing of writer chauncey Bailey.
While book, Killing the Messenger by: Thomas Peele, took place in 2007 while civil rights seemed to be a thing of the past. For many people walking on the streets. But in the book Chauncey Bailey is facing Civil Rights head on. Nothing during this time historically was really dealing with civil rights during the 21st century. The people in my book want to get rid of civil rights through newspaper articles. But midway through his career Chauncey is murdered. Forcing us to deal with civil rights struggles still continued. In the US many seemed to believe that civil rights had ended with Martin Luther King Jr. and his movement and yet it lived. In the book it says "Chauncey Bailey wrote articles about getting fair rights. Even though his editor wouldn't publish all his articles." On a website it said "the most shocking killing of a journalist in the United States in thirty years." Even though civil rights was and is still a problem and during this period this book relates directly with the discrete 'resurrection' of civil rights. But brings up topics about the time period that are relevant.
I have written this with Sean Ohmann and Sean Kingsley. About homeless animals. We made a action plan for what we would like to complete (step by step.) CLICK HERE for action plan. Homeless animals, a topic that is less discussed and, a problem we need to solve. Homeless animals live on the streets, where there is trash and we give them no respect. Animals are abandoned, neglected, abused, hungry, or put to death in shelters. If you have a pet you understand how much they mean to you, but if you didn’t adopt that pet then they could be the pet you drive by sitting on the curb with no home to go to. We would like to volunteer at a non-kill animal shelter to not only raise awareness of the issue but also to help out and show our support. We are very interested in this topic. We all have owned or own a pet. We love them unconditionally. We don’t want any animals out on the street and we want them to have a home to go to. We think that they deserve a loving home like we give our pets at home. We very much would like to get rid of animal homelessness all together. Approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. If we could lower that number we think that would be worth the time we put into it. Everyone everywhere, no matter if they have a pet, should care about animals and how they and others can help them. We should treat animals with the same respect we give each other. For some and most consider their pet part of their family. It could have been your animal that was homeless. You and everyone you know should care about animal homelessness and the issue it presents to all of us around the the world. Right now, approximately 28,235 animals are homeless and when and if they are put in a shelter 36% will most likely be euthanized. We would like to volunteer at an animal shelter to make it apparent that we care and we want to increase the adoption of pets so that less are homeless and less are euthanized. This issue has affected our community for years. Many animals that live on the streets never find a home.Of the 6.5 million animals are turned into shelters, only 3.2 million are adopted. That means 3.3 million animals that are turned into shelters are not adopted. We believe that this should not be. One way to solve this would be to stop buying animals from breeders and to take in strays. And the best place to get strays is from animal shelter. Animal shelters need help though. Most are understaffed and have to rely on volunteers in order to care for the animals. There are currently more than 5000 animal shelters nationwide. There is no national or international organization for keeping track of these shelters. And as such only a few get funding from the government. If this issue is not taken care of, disaster could occur. Animal shelters help keep animals safe. They also keep the population of animals down to safe levels. If they got out of control, they could lead to competition between dogs for food, leading to the deaths of many dogs. It could also cause an increase in the spread of animal-borne diseases. These could be devastating for the humans, as well as the animals. An organization that is helping with homeless animals is a group called ASPCA. ASPCA(2017) is collecting money to help build shelters for the homeless animals and give them the chance to have families. There is still a need to help homeless animals because it is cruel to do things like abuse and starve animals. It is also very painful for some people to see animals like that. There are many different ways people are helping homeless animals some people are adopting them from animal shelters some are having fundraisers and some people are taking the animals home right off the street. Adopting animals from homeless shelters is one of the most common or popular ways people get animals. It is a good thing to adopt the animals from there because you know that they were being taken care of. You can also look at reviews of that specific shelter and check if you are not sure about adopting from that shelter. Another common way to help the homeless animals is to have a fundraiser. People have fundraisers to help out homeless animal shelters the shelters take the money and use it to buy things like food and other necessities. The last way that people really help homeless animals is adopting or taking them right off the streets. This is a good thing that you are trying to help homeless animals but can be a very dangerous thing as well. Taking animals in off the streets is risky because the animals could have diseases and you do not know how the animal will react around you and your environment. But you could take them to an animal shelter where they would get proper care. That is how people help homeless animals. In conclusion, this issue is important, not just for the animals, but for the people too. Our solution is to volunteer at an animal shelter to raise awareness, and to help the animals shelters with whatever duties they need. We would take a group of 10 children to go and volunteer at the shelter. At animal shelters they are typically understaffed and overcrowded. The overpopulation in shelters causes the shelters to euthanize the animals. But if we volunteer and help out we can show we want these animals to find homes and that they can support the animals without killing them. We really want to go and volunteer but, to go and volunteer, we need transportation and a group of kids who are willing and happy to go and help out at animal shelters. We also need parent volunteers to transport all 10 of the kids to the animal shelter. We can take the mini-bus if we can get a driver who has a listen every for driving the mini-bus. Our goal in this project is to help raise awareness for homeless animals. We also hope to help alleviate some of the pressures on shelters by volunteering. We will know if we have completed our goal if people start talking about this issue outside of class. We hope that people who talk about this issue will be moved to action by our project and our volunteer work. Bibliography Wake County. “Animal Shelter.” Wakegov. My friends and family both agree that i like to crack jokes a lot. My friend Ava said that i am very funny. My parents both said that i am funny and that i like to tell jokes. I have always tried and have found jokes in the littlest details. I find it fun and relaxing to tell jokes. It comes naturally. I am the kind of person who jokes a lot. Do have an animal? Well, someone somewhere is abusing an animal just like yours. Do have an animal? Well, someone somewhere is abusing an animal just like yours.
Just like this picture of the animal above many animals are mistreated and left on the side of the road. This dog was found malnourished and dehydrated on the side of the road. I would like everyone to know about this issue and to care about the animals around them. this is very important to me because i have a dog and couldn't imagine and do want anything to ever happen to her. This is a very important issue to me especially! Many are affected by this animal cruelty. If you have seen anything you need to report it. this effects are community because dogs should be valued as human and everyone's lives are worth the same and we shouldn't hurt them! You can be affected because you would not want dogs walking around on the streets who are torn apart and have no home. This affects our community and we need to put a stop to this animal cruelty. everyone can help solve this problem. It's easy just either donate money to a local shelter, report any abuse, or go volunteer at a local shelter. You can also just get out the facts so that everyone can help stop this abuse of animals. To report call: - 0300 1234 999 Turns out there are 200,000 people who live in the triangle and suffer in poverty. The children's parents aren't able to get jobs or have minimum wage or LOWER pay. They cannot afford food, clothes etc... for their children. As a result the children in the area struggle. Many skip days of school because they have no food or clean clothes. I mean would you really want to go to school in old stinky torn up clothes? Or have to say can i have free lunch i have no money for food. No, no one would want to have to do this. But these are just a few things that are a result of low wages and poverty.
Some questions to think about: -How does this affect our community? -How are you affected or the people around you? -Why should we care about this issue? This affects our community because students aren't getting into school with breakfast. This causes distraction and lack of focus so students can't get a good education. Help stop poverty. I would like to help to find a solution to this problem because it affects students around me and i would like everyone including my peers to get a good education and to not suffer in poverty without help. Everyone should care about this because this is a serious problem and effects people in your area. Do you want to know how to help you can donate money and also go to fundraisers. this can help prevent poverty in our triangle area. If you don't live in the triangle area see if you have a local issue of this and if your city has an association who can help stop this spreading poverty. Go here to find more information and how you can help: https://www.unitedwaytriangle.org/ Hey, ya'll today we're going to be discussing immigration as you can probably tell by the title. We will learn about why the immigrants came to the states and a little about them and their opinions about America vs. their old country. Some questions to be thinking about as you read this are:
- If I were living in a different country why would I want to or have to come the US? - What were some of the advantages to coming to the US? -What are some disadvantages to moving to the US? Let's learn about some children's and their families immigration stories of children who now live in the United states. First we have Asya who came here with her family a few years ago. Asya and her family immigrated here after her father won a green card. A green card is a permit issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that allows individuals to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis. Even though Asya is now living in the US she still feels that Ukraine is still her home. Next let's meet Vandi a 12 year old boy who has now been living in the US for 6 years now. He came to america because he had been living in a refugee camp in Sierra Leone. Officials picked him up and brought them here to America. This was his first time on a plane. He is sad that he had to leave his friends but really likes the US and thinks that it is really big. He misses Sierra Leone and will be able to visit there when he has grown up. He really misses his mom and is able to talk to her on a phone. He knows that even though he misses his home, America will be a new and fun experience. I hope that you have learned a few things about immigration. Now that you know about some peoples stories you can realize why they came to america and how they came. I hope that you learned a lot from this and can now answer the questions that I have given you. Now think and answer this question would you come to America if it meant you had a chance at growing up without poverty but without your parents? Which would you choose? Thanks for reading my first blog post!! -Niya Bennett |
